So, borders is soon closing all of its doors completely. They will be gone, finito. So as a studying pagan, where does that put us? I mean, obviously we have the internet, but how did we get to an age when a solid book is useless? I am very upset by it. It takes the fun out of going to a book store to just browse. Barnes and Nobles is the last one in my area, and who knows how long it will last.
Are we really entering an age where books (real, solid books) don't matter anymore?

*Tear* I am very sad about this. Borders was my favorite store!
I do not think books are obselete however. It is still a very big industry. So many people are shopping online (and getting books for much cheaper I might add) that it is making in-person browsing less popular. It is easier to get exactly what you need from places like Amazon.com.
One thing that concerns me though is how we will shop for tarot decks, as that (at least for me) is completely based on feel! Unfortunately most occult stores do not have the revenue needed to justify carrying a wide variety of decks, which book stores like Borders could.
