I'd like to start a discussion on ethics. My first question has to do with permission in regards to magical workings...
"Should we, as pagans, always ask permission before doing a working? Are there times when it is acceptable to not do so?"

That's actually a point I'll be going over during my protection lesson too, but in my opinion so long as you are doing it with perfect love and perfect trust, I think that, depending on the magick in question of course, it can be perfectly acceptable.

It's a really difficult question that I'm not sure I know the answer to. I would think that if you were doing it entirely out of love, nothing bad should happen.

Good wisdom to go by:
If you have to ask yourself if it is ok to do a working, chances are its not acceptable.
Or:
Why not perform your working in away that asks for that permission? We ask deities to be with us in ritual, so it could be plausible to do the same with others. It would be simple to add some sort of phrasing that states, only if they wish it to be so etc... Does that make sense?
Honestly, this opens up quite a bit for pagans. If we must always ask permission, then are we not allowed to banish or bind something negative that was done to us?
