I've tried all of these, they all worked for me, but what worked best were the Tarot Deck, Pedulums, and Runes. For reasons too numerous I tend to avoid using Crystal balls for divination. I Also find Fire Gazing and scrying work well for me. I suppose that it depends on the person, everyone had different things that work best.

So far I have worked only with Tarot, Runes, and a deck of oracle cards called The Wisdom of Avalon. They work ok for me, I just need to work on my own ability to get more from them. I do not use them to tell the future. I think its impossible to truly tell the future, per se. Though I feel we do get glimpses of possible futures in visions, which is a different topic. I use divination for communication with spirits to gain insight, for advice, or just to hear what they want to communicate with me. I would like to try other outlets such as tea leaves. I've been terrified of scrying since I was young. I am not sure why though. Anyways, divination is fascinating, but not something to always rely on.

i noticed you said scrying terrifies you.
sometimes using a Ouija Board can freak me out too:)
i guess we all have our boundaries...

The problem with scrying and Ouija is that is leaves things open for anything to pop in, whether visions, or spirits. The latter can definitely be guarded against!
As for me, I work best with runes and the pendulum (which can almost be used in the same way as a Ouija board, but is more refined). I've also done a lot of work with tarot, and the dreaded Ouija board. I remember working with my mom from around eight years old on with her Ouija board. It was through the board that I first became aware of one of my spirit guides (although we weren't aware at the time that was his function).
I've tried scrying numerous times, both with a mirror and crystal balls. I do have difficulty with it, primarily due to me second-guessing myself and being impatient!! Someday, I will get it lol.
What does happen though are flashes, where I get snippets of visions. Unfortunately, they are not complete premonitions, so half the time I have to play detective and fill in the pieces. I do get dreams that are premonitive in nature, which is why I go through so many journals!!!!!

I have read tea leaves, the tarot, runes. Crystal ball gazing isnt my thing and I do not put too much faith in astrology- I do how ever love candle magic, smoke and fire reading and ways of divination. Things in nature especilly birds.
