Now, I dont know about the rest of you, but I don't always have time for long complicated protection. However, I have found some simple quick fixes (at least until you can take the time to protect your home properly.)
Salt Water: dip your finger in it and trace a pentacle (or other protective symbol) on all doors, windows, and mirrors (never forget the mirrors, this includes scrying mirrors and any highly reflective surface. Mirrors should be cleansed every three months or so anyways, but always cleanse them too when cleansing the house!)
Salt: pour in a straight line across thresholds(all of them) and across window-sils and in front of mirrors.

Trace pentacle (or other protective symbol) over all doors windows or mirrors with the tip of a sword, wand, or Athame.
Again, these are quick fixes only, they buy time, but an actual cleansing will be needed as soon as you're able.
